This is a truly spectacular Norwegian arctic blue fox fur cape/ bolero. This vintage late 1960s cape has been beautifully detailed with a tuxedo style front and gigantic pelts sewn in a horizontal orientation in the back that gently transition into a horizontal orientation. The pelts are separated by narrow bands of cream gros-grain ribbon to give the pelts extra volume and help define the wonderful geometric design of the cape. To top off this already stunning piece, the uppermost pelt is satin-lined and be worn up to act as a collar for an alternative look.
Styled and crafted by a New York City Furrier, it is made of superior quality, superbly plush and wide blue fox fur pelts. The colour of the fur is outstanding and also extremely rare due to uniformity of the colour. The fur is best described as having an ivory underfur with buttercream highlights—really vibrant and lustrous. The colour of fur is best represented in the photos on the mannequin- photos were taken on a model to show how it sits when worn.
The cape is lined in an ivory satin and closes at the front with a single concealed furrier hook. Like all fine furs of the era the monogram ‘Fran Fitz Henry’ is delicately embroidered in the lining.
Ideal for winter weddings and just about any formal occasion!
